Garth Hunt Code of Conduct

Rallies:

  • Bookings a week prior to the event so we know numbers and can book instructors.

  • Please arrive in plenty of time to be mounted and ready to ride for the start time.

  • Please check your rally email for times and location.

  • Pick up your pony's poo, hay and your own litter! It is polite to thank your venue host and instructor.

  • Parents are requested not to interfere while the children are being taught. Unless the child is on the lead rein, parents should remain outside the arena. If you would like to discuss the lesson please speak to the instructor afterwards.

  • Children must have a parent or guardian present at all times during the rally.

  • Members and ponies should be clean & correctly turned out in a P.C. approved hat with appropriate dress and tack. Please read the full dress code.

Unmounted activities

  • Please ensure children are dropped off and collected promptly.

  • Please let us know if they have allergies. We can cater for vegetarian and gluten free options.

  • Please remind them to behave as their parents will not be there!

Family, children and dogs.

  • Family members are very welcome to come and watch, however they must remain out of the arena.

  • Children not participating must be closely supervised and never allowed to enter the arena or field where the members are riding.

  • Dogs are not allowed.

Social media

  • Please do not publicly post photos/videos of other members without asking permission of the parents.

  • We do love seeing your own pictures though, so please email them to us if you're like them shared on our FB or instagram account!

Member behaviour

  • In the event of rude or bad behaviour from members, the parents and D.C. will be informed. It is expected that you will encourage your children not to repeat it, but if it becomes a regular occurrence, they may be excluded from future events.

  • Members must remember that when out competing they represent the club as ambassadors and such are expected to set a good example, any instances of rude or abusive behaviour will be recorded and may affect future team selection.

  • Abuse of ponies/horses will not be tolerated.

  • Members must respect the rights, dignity and worth of all other members regardless of age, gender, ability, race, cultural background or religious beliefs or sexual identity.

  • Bullying and/or inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated.

Pony Behaviour

  • Please wear a red ribbon in the tails of ponies that may kick.

  • The committee reserve the right to exclude ponies that are considered unsuitable for pony club activities or are felt to put other members at risk.

We would remind you that the pony club is entirely run by volunteers and that the hours we put into it are taken from our work and personal lives. We absolutely love being involved, it is very rewarding, but we are always grateful for any help!
